about

Thank you for stopping by to listen! The money from every download goes toward the new album. Thank you in advance for your love and support.

This is a live version of DEAR GOD. The studio production is on its way. It is large and cinematic but it all began here with this demo. I've been working on my other productions as well including new songs, "You Keep My Heart Beating", "Come To Me Empty", "Twinkle In My Eye" and more. I am beyond stoked to share the bigger picture with you soon.

ABOUT THE SONG:
"Dear God" was born in 2015 and then tucked away. In early 2017 it began to resurface in my mind as news of depression, overdoses & suicides seemed to become the norm. I rewrote the lyrics rethinking the songs purpose and later added an outro that became a sort of answer.

We only understand the beauty and gift of light when we have experienced the dark. The production of Dear God is meant to bring awareness to that contrast and awareness to the very common struggle of suicide, depression, and anxiety which often leads to or could have been the cause of addiction. This complicated cycle can also manifest out of a seemingly harmless life occurrence, yet every brain and body process these things differently. And not everyone can be fixed by conventional methods. It is often deeply rooted, and could have started long before anyone realized what was happening.

So this song is a call and an answer. It says I am human and flawed but I am reaching for the one greater than I am, even though I may not understand who or what I am reaching toward. Ultimately thats why humans were not created to be perfect. Our weakness is a chance to come closer to God on a deeper level, to understand His unfailing love towards us no matter our circumstances, to feel His hand on our lives, and to hear what He says back to us. Our weakness give us a chance to build greater communication with the One who created us. When the world is aiming to present an image of perfection, we have the chance to come as we are, with our problems and flaws exposed and understood. And as we continue to reach, we learn that we are not only seeking the Light but it is also seeking us.

MY THOUGHTS:
***We are facing a mental health crisis. More now than ever is time to open up, be honest with yourself and others, be compassionate, eat well for your body and mind, pray, meditate, create or wade in the ocean ..find pureness in life to help cleanse your spirit! FIND YOUR PEACE. I like to think of these things as a Britta Filter for the soul. We are swimming in dark waters today and as a whole we need to get to a safer environment mentally/emotionally so we can live the life God intended and enhance the future of our world. There is too much noise around us - even when completely silent. Too many invisible poisons slowly infecting us- negative conversations, bad news, trolling, political banter, right vs wrong, etc etc... Its a form of emotional cancer!! And its an aggressive one!

Find more ways to unplug from constant external stimulus and find what truly makes the soul content and peaceful. Respect the world we live in and other people. Also be careful with the things you put in your body! All things - foods contain additives, preservatives and dyes that effect our endocrine system and ability to absorb nutrients that aid in our mental/emotional health.. Be careful with medications! Understand all the side effects before you just agree to take them. Study seratonin and gaba and their combined role in our mood health. Look into a high quality magnesium chloride supplement (not oxide- which is only about 4% bioavailable) ...we need it to absorb other minerals and nutrients in our body and it is responsible for over 300 functions in the body. Without it we can become deficient which once again can lead to endocrine imbalance or anxiety.. which all can lead to depression, which can lead to substance abuse which leads to more endocrine imbalance... and the cycle keeps spiraling. Study and educate yourself everyday on how to be mentally, spiritually and physically balanced and healthy so if you start to experience symptoms you are prepared!
Balance can be a difficult pursuit but never stop learning and always keep trying.

DEAR GOD
Words, Music & Production by Michele Karmin c.2018

Don't know what I'm doing tonight
I sit alone I'll try to say this lightly
I've been down this road before but I
Don't want to do it anymore
I'm too drunk to think
Too numb to cry
Just an empty shell
Completely drained of life
Now the time has come to decide
If I cut my loss will you throw a new line

And I pray dear God help me find my way
Am I too far to be saved
Dear God help me find my way

Don't know what doing tonight
I'm riding out on hope I think I see the light shining
Brightly, kindly like the sun
But it's too late now I already got the gun
And then 1 - 2 - 3 by 4 it's done
I'm feeling unholy now I see someone
A silhouette, a god, an angel of the dark
He's pointing his fingers at me
Saying come

And I pray dear God help me find my way
Am I too far to be saved
Dear God help me find my way

Oooo, ooo

Hold me close
When you fear the dark just know
Oh you can
Hold me close
When u fear the dark just know
You'' never walk alone

Hold me close
When u fear the dark just know
Oh you can
Hold me close
When you fear the dark just know
You'll never walk alone

In the rain, in the sand, in the flames
I will take your hand
And in exchange
I will give you
A light that makes u whole

There is love inside this light
And once you reach for it you'll find
It's a love that will make u
Shine bright like hope

Hold me close
When u fear the dark just know
Oh you can
Hold me close
I'll be the light that makes you whole
You're gonna shine bright like hope

You'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

-
When you fear the dark just know
I'll be the light that makes you whole

You'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone
You'll shine bright like hope, like hope

When you fear the dark just know
You're gonna shine bright like hope, like hope

You'll never walk alone
