In early 2019 some lyrics paired with a melody dropped into my mind. As subconscious as music often comes, I felt it was a letter to my heart at the time, to be brave, to keep walking forward, and to stay hopeful as I progressed through a transition in my life. The song laid in my recorder as a brief moment passing by, but later through the year into 2020 I kept stumbling upon items representing pieces of the song. These felt like nudges, so I rode with the wave as it came to shore early this year. Now at the end of 2020, I feel we have all gone through a deep transition in our lives.
We have learned what matters most. We have learned to slow down. We have acknowledged our fears, anxieties and the fact that we, although an evolved intelligent human race, cannot always control the outcomes. But we do know some remedies.. peace, love, compassion, less judgement, hope, prayer, and we know tomorrow is a new day to begin again. We will never be a perfect world in this realm, but by God's grace we can be resilient marching on. And by God's grace we can look forward to a new brighter day.
lyrics
It's time for a new day
It's time for new way
I tell you my darling
It's time to say goodbye
To all of the old ways
To make room for new things
Take all the memories
But leave all the bags behind
When the walls of the world that you built up
Just keep falling down
Stuck under the rubble
It seems like theres no way out
I tell you my darling
You don't have to ever worry
It's just a sign
To start a new thing
This time lets not hold back
Let's let go of the past
If we take each step forward together
We will overcome
But if you should worry
Just know that i'll always
Be right by your side
As we fight to keep marching on
As the walls of the world that we built up
Just keep falling down
Stuck under the rubble
It seems like theres no way out
Despite all the trouble
The sun will still go on shining
So take my hand
And let's start a new thing
Its time to renew love
Let's only pursue love
So fear, pain and darkness will drown
In the light of each day
It's going to be okay
Keep smiling keep going
Before you know it
A better tomorrow will be our today
As the walls of the world all around us just keep falling down
Stuck under the rubble it seems like there's no way out
Take one more chance one more breath one more time to believe
And don't be afraid to start a new thing
Piece by piece we'll rebuild with the love that we bring
In the dawn of a new day
Here's to the dawn of a new day
